We arrived in Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila, at 1 pm, and then we wait for our next flight to Laoag International Airport at 7 pm. We took our lunch in Jollibee (fast food in the Philippines) and the taste is masarap (delicious).

We also met our new friends from Bali in NAIA, Manila, they are Ris and Yeyen. After that we had our flight together. Our flight was good and landing at Laoag International Airport at 10 pm. We are so surprised because Ma’am Imelda and Ma’am Jeanette, the staffs of Mariano Marcos University are waiting for us in front of the airport.
They make a banner or a tarpaulin to welcome us and we are so happy. We arrived in the MMSU Mansion at 11 pm by the MMSU’s bus. The MMSU Mansion is located in Batac City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. We were welcome by the Philippines food and the taste is delicious. After that, Kuya Mee Jay told us to be ready tomorrow for the welcome program in MMSU’s administration building Batac City, and they will pick us in the MMSU Mansion at 7 am. So, this is my first night in the Philippines.

Welcoming Program

Finally, I had given the chance to have my practice teaching in the Philippines because this is one of my dreams. This is my first time to attend flag ceremony and welcome program in MMSU’s administration building, Batac City. I just saw the MMSU building in the website or youtube, and I can’t imagine that my dream turns into reality in this day, I am very glad, speechless and so grateful because they welcomed us with their warmth and kindness. This is my first time to saw the President of Mariano Marcos State University, Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, PhD. She is very kind, always spread her smile and care to us.
After that, we go to College of Teacher Education (Laoag Campus) at 10 am by MMSU’s bus to attend welcome program again. I am happy and enjoyed this program because I saw Filipino students that can dance Indonesian traditional dance, like “tari piring and sabilulungan” and sing Indonesian traditional song like “si patokaan”.
I am really grateful because I was instructed to conduct the National Song from Indonesia “Indonesia Raya”. It makes my heart beats so fast and I am so proud that we were able to sing “Indonesia Raya” together in the Philippines. I enjoyed also because the Filipino students are very friendly and hospitable. When we took a picture together we said “wacky” for the free style, and it was fun. Thank you MMSU for making the best first impression.
